Have you neglected the main step here? Which is to save your PNG file as a RGB format png, currently it is either indexed color or CMYK.
Dear Fletch - that was the fix. Thank you so much. It is all working now as expected.

Re: Lighting, Translucence

Here is what I did: Delete both logos from the scene. use purgeall.rb and be sure that the scene is completely purged of the 'bad' image. Using SketchUp Insert function find your RGB format logo. insert/place, explode. Now, using Twilight mat editor check preview of the texture after applying emitt...

Re: Lighting, Translucence

no, Twilight's not copying it. Twilight is just keeping the "old" image path. Try browsing in the Twilight Material editor to the new .jpg images or new rgb format .png files, that should solve it. Make sure that in SU the path is also to the correct RGB format .png or .jpg logo image. We...

Re: Lighting, Translucence

The buttons have returned, by the way. I may even know why. It was not Twilight's fault. This is troubling me though: the patches are still solid colors. ALSO, Twilight insists on copying their source images to my AppData\Twilight\Temp folder and using those as the images for the textures. screencap...

Re: Lighting, Translucence

try .jpg format logo instead of .png. it could be you have set a translucency or changed the opacity of the png or the texture in the material in Su or in Twilight, I would not do that in this case. Either way, I'm fairly certain that you have made a mistake with the geometry or applying the logo t...

Re: Lighting, Translucence

Thank you for your helpful responses, as always, Fletch. Here is my situation. I do need to use an image as a texture and then project it onto a portion of the vehicle. The logo does not exist as geometry and getting it there would be well-nigh impossible. Based on your recommendations I've changed ...

Re: Lighting, Translucence

Here is an example, a 48 segment circle offset by 1mm and used to create a 1mm thick tube, then extruded 300' long. Inside is a simple triangle extruded through the middle. The triangular tube has a light emitter material at 500 power. I have kept the triangle from extending the full 300' length, s...

Re: Lighting, Translucence

Why not just apply an emitter to the outer surface of the balloon and forget the interior lighting all-together? If you want it lit from the inside like you wish, you will need an SSS material. The best thing to do would be, assuming you need only solid colors, not needing a logo, would be to build...

Lighting, Translucence

I'm trying to light a huge envelope of material from the inside. The envelope (think of it as a strangely-shaped balloon) has been resized so that its apparent dimension is about 70" in length. It's not looking anywhere near what I was hoping for, so perhaps you could give me a few more ideas. ...

Re: How to use Twilight with SketchyPhysics

If this isn't yet an official feature request for some future release, may I make it one now?
The request being that Twilight Render be aware of and take into account SP camera movement.
