Re: Annoying white PNG edges

Right. Talking to many designers at work, it would appear that Photoshop sucks big-time when it comes to doing anything remotely half decent with PNGs. Maybe they'll think of including it by the time CS-27 comes around? I ended up having to use my home PC's copy of Gimp to sort this all out. Tis goo...

Re: Annoying white PNG edges

Also, just noticed Fletch, while testing out YOUR PNG, the edges - while at lest not white - turn out a pale green. Would I be right in assuming this is just the reminants of the original colors that surrounded your leaves?

Re: Annoying white PNG edges

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!! THANKS CHRIS!!! (caps off now please..). I LOVE it when people explain something new to me! That's just the thing I was needing to hear. Certainly not something I was aware of til you explained it to me. Now, just for the future, how do I make sure of this in either Photoshop or Gi...

Re: Annoying white PNG edges

Hi Fletch, I first thought that might be the case, so I also did aversion with a 1024 wide pixel png. Same thing happened exactly. Currently, it's actually a little larger than the Philadendron leaf PNG file. In the interim since posting this, I have just taken the mapped image from the left one and...

Annoying white PNG edges

Hi guys, Well, I'm well in to the task of trying to find/make the very best general purpose tree for animated fly-arounds on my big landscape models. Only problem seems to be, the contender that appeared to render quite well up close, appears to "frizzle" from frame to frame when it's in t...

Re: Flickering lights in twilight animation

Thanks Chris, Just tried the scene with Lampshade material and point-light. Took 3 times as long per frame to render, and, you're right. Doesn't look all that much better for it. Would you have any thoughts on why the "Face-me" components on the trees i used (just png cut-out files told to...

Re: Flickering lights in twilight animation

Thanks Chris! Just took your advice and changed the light spheres to fake emitter (9000) with a 120 degree spot underneath, and changed to Medium plus Object Animation. Just smooth as! Will maybe try point lights rather than the spots to see if I can get a softer light-pooling around the poles. Do y...
