In my outdoor scene I have trees that cast a shadow but in post-pro I am erasing the grass they are on for a realistic photo of grass, thus erasing the shadows as well. Is there a way to render just the shadows? I seem to remember a tutorial on this but I can't find it. Thanks!

Thank you Fletch. Truth is I don't work on 3D modeling consistently (I'm a CAD draftsman for the most part) and my skill set has kind of stalled because of lack of use. I need to really spend more time and learn a lot more about the program.

Oh and I did reduce the threads and it has helped with the freezing/lagging, thank you!

So I checked and it is set at maximum threads which is 8 in my render. The render I have been doing took 3 days to render only to decent quality image just because I have a light emitter. Is this normal?
