Re: Vault - Concrete Test

Had to mess about with this some more. Changed out the "stuff " in the passageway. Shooting for the viewer wondering just what's going on around the bend  . Tweaked on the textures a little and dropped the power of the lights a small amount. Rendered Easy 9 , 100 passes , 2200px - 1292px . ...

Re: Enamel Pin Challenge

jxmoss , thanks for the encouragement. You still win "best pin" hands down. You can also try a different background and experiment with the lighting on your Futurama pin as time allows.... I'm always surprised how small changes can greatly affect the look of these small objects when rendered. :^:

Re: Blurring reflections

Fletch , Glad you posted some great advice for pbacot's original question. Not sure I was being of much help  I've been doing a bunch of experiments in the Deep Material Editor to try and get more complex effects than "out of the box" settings. Downloaded the "Deep Material" manual and stil...

Re: Enamel Pin Challenge

Had another go at this..... added bevels to the inner edges of the pin. Changed the view for this one. HDRI the same as the first one. Only change in materials was to dial the "min shine" on the "enamel" bits back down to the default 150. Rendered Easy 9 , 75 passes , 1800 px wide again. Post pro in...

Re: Enamel Pin Challenge

Thanks Fletch. Appreciate the comment about running a bevel on the enamel side..... funny you mentioned it as I thought about doing it and didn't because was guessing it wouldn't make a very big difference at the size this thing is.... well going to find out .... fix the model and ran the bevel on t...

Re: Blurring reflections

pbacot , maybe this might get what you want ...... the floor texture is a " polished concrete aggregate " that I downloaded sometime back from I think the resource section of the forum. First image the template for the floor is Perfect Reflection > Moderate , no bump map Second image template is Per...

Re: Blurring reflections

I've got a test running now..... It's on the "Vault" model I posted over in Work in Progress. I changed out the floor texture to a higher polished one and set it up like I proposed in my earlier post. Going to let it run about 25 passes, should give you an idea if it's similar in look to what your s...
