Re: Material Under Black Light

The KT engine supports a material property called fluorescence. However, you will need Twilight Render Pro to use it in the Deep Material Editor. I've never really successfully used it before, though, so I'm not certain how functional it actually is.

Re: Error: FreeImage_LoadU: failed to open input file (for type: 17)

TWR uses FreeImage for some features that are missing from SketchUp and our native image processing. What is happening is, the FreeImage library is trying to open a file and failing. Why it's failing isn't indicated. 'Type 17' indicates a TGA or targa image. It could be that the file in question is ...

Re: Batch Render messes up scenes?

What operating system are you using?

I've never heard of this issue occurring but it may be related to duplicated scenes when batch rendering on OSX. You might find it works better if you disable Scene Transitions (I think it's under Scenes->Settings?).

Re: How do you render on a laptop?

LedouxM, are you also on a Mac? I have heard of this issue with OSX in years past because of OSX's power management. Without knowing anything more about it, I would guess it is a similar issue (though you mention you have already made changes to those settings). Does the computer go into hibernation...

Re: 36 thread limit?

I believe you are correct. When running a CPU core at 100%, hyper threading is not effective. And if there is only one floating point processor per core, all the more reason to just run 1 thread per core for rendering.

Re: Twilght/Kerkythea materials into Unreal studio?

If you were to export your scene to Kerkythea format (which requires Twilight Render Pro), the file format is XML. It's readable and parsable. So in theory you could create a converter to create Unreal materials from that (assuming of course that Unreal supports a fully PBR material shader system th...

Re: Editing materials in hobby version

Twilight Render Hobby does not include the Deep Material Editor. It has access to the Template Material Editor, which still provides 99% of the material options you will ever need.

Re: White turning to black?

This is probably an issue with back faces showing to the camera. Make sure all your front faces are showing if you are experiencing odd materials rendering.

Re: Transparent Water, No Alpha setting

Water automatically has an alpha of completely transparent.

Check to make sure the front faces of the model are visible to the camera, not the back faces.

A picture would be useful here too.
