Canon by JPost
Jpost shared his model with us privately while asking a question about some materials not rendering correctly. Turns out that the groups in the model were painted and not the faces. Re: free Library of Materials, Environments and more
the models are for Blender, but maybe you can export them to collada for use in SU
textures and HDRI are always useful.

Re: rendering metal
You can re-download the scene from the original link I sent to you in the private message.
Here it is with better mapping - still needs more work, but it's better.
this render was 2.5 minutes on Easy 09 with Fastforward AI denoise

Re: rendering metal
By the way - apparently most objects are painted groups. It is not recommended to paint groups. You must paint faces so that you can texture/UV map the mesh properly.
I will be sending you an updated link with the UV mapping updated on the object.

Re: rendering metal
Remapped the texture with Twilight render texture mapping funcion for cylindrical mapping (had to explode and regroup the component of the canon barrel and place the axis properly first)
Used ACES Post-Process alogrithm and it looks better.
Download scene sent via PM inbox.

Re: rendering metal
This is not what you are going to want to hear, but I can find nothing wrong with the scene. The canon renders correctly no matter which render setting I choose. To improve the lighting I added the infinite plane object from Extensions>Twilight V2>Objects>Infinite Plane I applied a medium gray with ...
