Sorry mate but wrong on both of those. :oops: no offense intended, hope you will accept my apologies. In the case of the lighting, then I may suggest turning on the sun, set power to 1 to get started, and change the color to a moon blue color... set sun angle in SU to get more interesting shadows.

This is possible, as the resolution of the image is critical in the render engine to determining ray casting. Have you tried to simply lower the emitter power when rendering in higher resolution?
