Re: Sideboard

It Purges all UNUSED Components, Layers, Materials, Styles. When you delete any component from your scene, it remains in SketchUp's "background" memory somewhere. Same thing happens when you delete a Layer, Material, or Scene Style... in case you want to use it again later. If you are conf...

Re: saving connected templates

unfortunately there is a SketchUp Bug that does not remember these settings in the .skm material format the way it supposedly should. We, too, wish it were the way you propose... please contact SU and request them to fix this bug! Perhaps if they hear from enough people they will finally fix it.

Re: whay does manual say...

the default SketchUp glass materials are not automagically converted in Twilight. This is by design as we do not want to 'presume' or 'force' something into your rendering that you do not want or need. any glass in an interior space, even though it may not be directly seen, may either be seen via re...

Re: Point light issues and Directory tree Problems.

you have both forward and back slashes in your path to material preview scenes... are they working at all? quickest/easiest... I would save a backup of my license file and any special materials, then delete all files for Twilight using the uninstaller in the plugins folder first, then manually delet...

Use the PurgeAll.rb ruby script by the great "TIG" to eliminate unwanted materials and components from the model. After you delete all visible instances of a component, it still resides in the model's "memory" until it is purged. http://www.kerkythea.net/phpBB2/files/purgeall_61...

Re: Change Colour of a Material?

:>: This is a perfect thread here.

basically... export material as .xml, open in Kerkythea, edit material, save as new library, save library file into Twilight's Materials folder.
re-open SketchUp.

Re: Sideboard

 after simply purging the file with Purgeall.rb it went from 17Mb to 2Mb.
If you need the tool, please let me know, it's free, and I linked it from this forum several times...

This Medium+UltraAA took 54m to render on corei7 2.66mhz, so, yes, it's not the speediest of settings.

Re: pixel size for my bricks

the way I describe will give you some variation for bumps on the surface of the bricks.
in the alpha mask shown, the bricks are pure white, which leaves them without bumps.

Re: pixel size for my bricks

Just to follow up... if your Brick Alpha looks something like this, then you can use it in bump and specular. You may want to make (in photoshop) a greyscale image of the brick you are using and overlay it on the alpha and set its opacity to something like 30-50 percent and set blending mode for the...
