Re: light and material study

For Paint and Plastic Template, it works the same.
Only, it's faster if you use the Plastic>Shiny Template because it defaults to 1.52 as the IOR, so you don't need to change it, only the shininess.

Re: light and material study

I painted the entire top panel with the SU color for the gloss acrylic material. (same material that is painted on the back of the other panels.) I invite you to download the model with the acrylic on it, and change it to the material template with settings as shown as above and see/test the shiny p...

Re: light and material study

JeZ, I place this here for the benefit even of those without access to the Red Carpet Section of the forum... This is what the Ceramic Template looks like, so that you can compare. Look at the Shininess Values and the IOR Values for each version... these numbers are very important! When using this c...

Re: light and material study

Agree, it's frustrating anytime one doesn't understand something. I will provide a library based on the Parapan color pallette. Then you can use it in Twilight. You can go to Kerkythea.net and download the program for free, open the same material library and change any color to any color you like. T...

Re: light and material study

That material doesn't exist as a template in Twilight. I find that using the Ceramic Template and Setting Shininess to 6000 can be somewhat successful. I typically use, for Shiny Plastic, a shininess of 600 (default for that template is 180) The nice thing about templates is they are just a suggesti...

Re: light and material study

great materials shot there, I thought it was a photo for a while... Try to make sure your paint color is not 100% pure color anywhere. White and Blacks are especially important for following this rule. If a pure 100% white has light shining on it, what color should it become? Same for black - if a s...
