Re: Hyperspace
I hope so too, Mike! It's tragic how much has been lost in the stampede toward modernisation and Westernisation. I'm going to leave it at that. Being an historian, and drawing the conclusions I have drawn about certain historical events, I could all too easily go off on a tangential rant. However int...

Re: Hyperspace
...And I'm back, with the other three sample images from the buke-zukuri. All of these are very much WIP, however, they show where my skills are at. In the previous post, and this one, the ink paintings on the fusuma are all my own work, done digitally, where I can have the software compensate for m...

Re: Hyperspace
Thanks, Mike! You're most welcome, Fletch! Funny story there, I had given up on looking at the Gallery because archvis isn't really my thing normally, and that was the vast majority of what I saw going into the Gallery. Nothing wrong with archvis, I just prefer things which "do point five past ...

Re: Marble Challenge
Beautiful work, Andrew! That is some seriously nice work, and thank you for the screenshot of your Deep Material Editor settings. I was unaware of the fog setting, and am going to be exploring that soon. And if this thread has risen from the dead, I may play with some marbles and post the results. A...

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
You're very welcome, Des. I'm glad I could help. You'll find that a fair number of the members here are happy to answer questions, or at least point people to the right threads. Between Fletch and a couple of the regulars here, I managed to survive my first years with TW Render, so it's nice to give...

Re: Hyperspace
One more image. This one has a missing detail the other does not. After I realised what was missing, I rerendered with Skatter, and then did Volumetrics in Post as before. This was the result:
That's enough from me for today.
Ja ne!

Re: Hyperspace
Thank you Fletch! Also, I only now found out, two years late, that one of my lightsaber renders I posted in December of 2016 made it into the Showcase Gallery. Thank you so much for that honour. I am deeply honoured by that, and it motivates me to post more on here. I've been wanting to have my work...

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Woops! Almost crossposted there with you Fletch! @ Audiologist: Build a room, normal size. Then make a smaller box, one centimeter smaller in all directions. Make that one volumetric. Leave the room itself normal materials. Then, make the the tiny box in your room (the brown one) normal material als...

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
I'm certainly no expert on Volumetric materials, as these guys could tell you, but as I understand it, from struggling with volumetrics in version 2.xx, the box you have around your object would need to be substantially larger, and need to have the Volumetric template applied to that. If you're tryi...

Hyperspace
I know it's been awhile. Health issue flareups. The good news is I had a lovely holiday season with my spouse, and our feline masters-I mean, neko. Especially lovely, because I didn't have to deal with people I didn't want to. I have actually been hard at work for most of the last few months. I got ...
