so based on that experiment, I realized it was just a texture scale issue on the base, and a matter of better Anti-aliasing.

seems there's something odd, Oli, with the texture mapping which you say is "perfect."
don't know if it's SU, UV tool, or TWL, or combination of some or all of those...
here's an example...
did you scale the base after building/mapping it?

I'm afraid this is an SU issue.
but you may feel free to send us the scene and we can see what can be done. (did you try choosing "weld" 20 or 30 degrees for the material?)
did you make sure the curving geometry is within a group or component? (this 'glitch' is mentioned in the manual)

It looks 100% better than before, and of course still has a long way to go. :^: The proportions of the building are not accurate. I don't think your mamma will be able to climb the stairs, as they each appear to be about 30cm high. The building needs details, stairs need details, walls/windows need ...
