Re: Old Factory

Thanks all. Great image Chris. :rspkt: The chains, could you make each link a component, simple like you have, drop them with SP then edit them by running Subdivide & Smooth or Round Corners? I have always placed things like this rather than using SP. Maybe I need to use it more. I've never real...

Old Factory

Interior +, 24 hours The leaves and chains were "positioned" by dropping them in SketchyPhysics (it was fun to drop them too quickly and watch the chains explode  ). The chains are far too simplified for my taste, but they worked really well with SP, where something more complicated m...

Re: kitchen reno:

My only comment is that the frame over the window seems unrealistically 'simple' are you talking about the wooden valence or the white vinyl? but maybe that's how it really is? no, its not built yet. how would you suggest i make it different? The vinyl / glass. At least where I'm at (in Colorado) y...

Re: HDR Help

In all honesty, the debevec probes are not that great for renders (My opinion only). You can find some really good ones here: http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/archive.html (They aren't probes, they are spherical)

Re: The Twilight "Duh!" thread

Actually in KT it's best if you set exposure & gamma before rendering (there is some optimisation based on those settings, according to giannis), but naturally those can be set later too. Not sure if it's same with Twilight. It is very similar, if not exactly the same. For example, render a sim...

Re: HDR Help

sIBL (made by the same people as Picturenaut) is another great package / application. I use it a lot to generate "smooth / blurry" hdr images that work better to provide diffuse light (though may not make very good backgrounds).

Re: Mac version

Porting the code to Mac is turning out to be more difficult than expected. 99.9% of the code is cross platform, yet there are so many little difference when building software on a Mac that the term "cross platform" is just a mean little joke. However, it is being actively pursued. But I ca...

Very nice. Those wall lights are very cool. My only comment is that the frame over the window seems unrealistically 'simple', but maybe that's how it really is?
