Re: Combat Knife - Puddle/Water Layering Experiement

Thank you, everyone, for the advice! SpookyChick, that is a great work flow! I will give the project a revisit on this render and try a different landscape around the knife to give a perspective of size. This could add more of a story around it other than just the static image. Here's the example re...

Combat Knife - Puddle/Water Layering Experiement

Experimenting with liquid interacting with a solid model. I enjoy Fallout 3, so I decided to replicate the Combat Knife from that game and threw it into a puddle. Let me know your thoughts or anything I could change around to make this more realistic. :v: or :^: I will say that, I am on the Hobby ve...

Re: Passageway

As Mike said, interesting. Hard to make anymore comments without knowing what it is your trying to represent? Did you just use the basic "Emitter" setting for the glowing yellow parts? :! The rendering is of an abstract passageway in the middle of a desert scene. It cracks me up that you ...

GPU Rendering Option in the future?

Will there be an update in the future to set up GPU rendering? I love the SketchUp Plugin but I know that my GPU could do a lot better work when it comes to rendering processes compared to my CPU. Even if there were an option to do a 50/50 split on CPU and GPU that would be awesome. Even if it was o...

Re: first attempt at exterior

Personally, I like the look you are going for but the background texture might be the darkening issue you are having with the rest of the rendering. Also, some of your textures seem a little large for the faces that you put them on. I know that there is a great free texture site but, currently do no...

Tunnel - Long Rendering Time

Had fun building and rendering out this futuristic tunnel, structurally speaking. Long 18 hour rendering (1334 RT) , but think that I could have let it render out for longer to take out a little bit more noise. Let me know if you want to know what my setup is and maybe you could tell me yours....

follow video tutorials link in my signature.

modeling and scale of model is critical, in addition to good lighting.
Thank you for your input! :rspkt: I will look into your links. All I want is to learn the correct path to realism. :hat:

Gemstones (Set In)

Took some feedback from a few people and messed around. Had some fun with this rendering. If anyone knows a link to a good lighting tutorial so I can understand how the lighting systems work with the Twilight Render Lighting Tool or anything more about working with HDR Studios, that would be awesome...
