Issues with materials

I have just recently jumped back into Twilight and noticed an issue today (probably me doing something wrong but need to know). I tried to edit a material in my model to be shiny. I selected the material with the eyedropper and adjusted the IOR to 1.52 and the shine to 210 and the issue is it shows ...

Re: Sideboard

Zacchia,

The AA on this needs some work as you have some jaggys going on. Also, floor material is far out of scale. The floor could also use a baseboard. Overall I think the reflections would look better if there was something in the scene to reflect.

Re: Concept Vehicles

Great stuff Eric. I do like the grainy shots as well. It leaves more to the imagination. Something strikes me about the "Shoe limo" it has good form but would be better suited as a "all-terrain super troop carrier" or something like that maybe? Nice work as usual. Don't let the g...

Re: Stone House and Pool

Fletch,

I use a couple great tools for building custom textures or making normal maps:

Pixplant
Luxology Imagesynth

Both are good but I prefer Pixplant. It is extremely easy to use and does an amazing job. Worth looking into.

These are great renders!!

Re: Hospital patient rooms

Frederick, Thanks for the advice. I am still learning Twilight (this is only the second time I have used it) so I am getting used to the materials and the tricks of what to use when. Eric, And I LOVE Twilight. I would ditch Vray if twilight offered displacement mapping! Hint Hint Twilight...... Scott

Re: Hospital patient rooms

The following were library items:

Bed (modified version)
flowers
medical instruments
Wall art

BUT, there was another room and nurses station done in this time too! ;)

Hospital patient rooms

From concept to final render 8 hours. All modeling done in Sketchup. Comments welcome. I know the renders are not perfect but for the time frame I had this is perfect for the client.

Re: very stylised internal render

I like it but the flare is the focal point and not the room (which I would think would be the intent).

Re: Chess anyone?

Really nice Eric. One crit would be to have the board on something (a table or a floor material). It just seems too dark for a "studio" render. All in all really nice. The DOF is well controlled and not over done as it seems it typically the case with so many other DOF renders. I also woul...
