Family Room Renovation
Hey all. I wanted to continue working on "Project Heartbeat" this past week but ended up doing this job instead on top of my usual 40+ hr full-time job. All done on Easy 9 for only 20 to 30 passes with sun set to 5 in addition to HDRI. Each ran for about 2 hrs. PP brightness and slight con...

Re: Project "Heart Beat"
It must have been my sub-conscious telling me to post this in time for Valentine's Day because I simply did not put two and two together. Need a last minute card? Here you go. Happy Valentine's Day!

Re: Project "Heart Beat"
Artisan was indeed the tool of choice. Never would have been able to do it without it. This took me a VERY long time to do. The veiny look is a bump set at 3.000. Kept the reflection at the default white. alvydas, you probably could have done this in your sleep

Project "Heart Beat" Updated 8/17/12
This is the first part of a much larger project I have been sketching for several months now. I hope to start working and posting other elements soon. Rendered at 2400px x 1139 on Easy 9 for 100 passes with a studio HDRI for lighting only. No PP. CC are always welcomed and encouraged!

Re: Private Room
Fantastic work I agree with Gareth. The last image is my favorite. One quick question... does the design intentionally not have handles for the doors?

Re: A Friendly Diamond Competition
Thanks massimo. Gave your suggestion a test run. Changed the HDRI to a lovely sunset from http://www.hdri4free.com/ and removed all other light sources. Got some very interesting results. Easy 10 for 138 passes. No change to gamma or light levels.

Re: A Friendly Diamond Competition
Hey Fletch: Re-rendered with the diamond gem setting with the ennis hdr. Let render over the weekend for 520 threads and reduced the gamma and light levels to .7 for contrast (520 is a bit overkill but when you have tickets for Beethoven's 5th Symphony and a night-on-the-town in Philadelphia time fl...

Re: A Friendly Diamond Competition
Actually yes. It's been so long since I've taken a look at that thread. I downloaded that hdr quite a while ago. Totally forgot about it. Thanks for the refresher.

Re: A Friendly Diamond Competition
I agree the most non-realistic element is the color of the "diamond." I was going for the color closer to the provided image, but I will run it through with the Gem Library diamond. I had done a few lighting tests with some spots but was getting some really odd dispersion. I'll run a coupl...
