Re: Long animation
Thanks Fletch! I was just watching one of the Twilight V2 Youtube videos (where you show Section cuts). The models for the boats used in that model look extremely simplistic within the model, but render as a detailed boat. What is this functionality called? And what is its purpose? I'm guessing it e...

Re: Long animation
Thanks Fletch. 1) I'm guessing that for the scenes in which there is object animation, I won't be able to tick "reuse lighting information". Is that correct? 2) Also does V2 have the ability to render an image and then automatically delete the spherical sky background out? Without using an...

Re: Long animation
Thanks for the reply Chris!
How do the animation presets differ to the regular easy presets?
There is going to be a small amount of object animation, but I think I'll divide the video up into smaller clips, so as I save time when it is possible to reuse lighting information.

Long animation
I'm looking to render an animation soon and have been looking through the current presets for my model. As there's a lot of 3D trees involved, I'm looking at approximately 24 minutes per frame on the low+ animation setting. This then works out at 15 days rendering for the length and frame rate I've ...

Re: What happens if I run out if RAM?
I just tried to save the strange displayed image and it crashed. Looking through the crash file, it shows VM total at 3.1G. Is the VM the RAM used? And if so, have I gone too far with the resolution? Edit: I've since reduced the resolution down and it seems to be rendering as normal. It didn't like ...

What happens if I run out if RAM?
Hi, I'm using Sketchup Pro 2014, Twilight V1 and Mavericks OSX. I'm currently rendering an image at a very high resolution using Easy 09. As far as I'm aware, the RAM hasn't gone too high looking at Activity Monitor, yet I haven't been able to see a preview of my render as yet. It's currently render...

Re: SketchUP 2015
That's interesting about the speed differences.
I never hit the ram limit under the 32 bit version of Twilight, but nice to know I can now use all my ram
Thanks again for sorting a 2015 compatible version so quickly.

Re: SketchUP 2015
Thanks, I can imagine this latest update has kept you busy! Great to see a release so soon though! Will this version render at 32 bit speeds? If so, do you reckon you'll be developing a version which utilises the extra ram and speed from a 64 bit version? Also out of curiosity, does 64 bit speed up ...

Is there also likely to be a 64 bit version of Twilight released?

Re: DPI and pixel size query.
DPI Stands for dots per inch. The easiest possible way is to convert your mm measurements into inches. Then you just times the inches, by your DPI and you have your resolution. E.g. If you want a standard sized photo 6" by 4" at 300dpi, 6x300 = 1800 and 4x300 = 1200, so the render size wou...
