Re: A Fijian Canoe

That is some focused modelling skills you have. That'd take me a day--if even!!!

Re: Discrepancy in views - Is Photomatch the culprit?

When I selected the Twilight scene view tool while in the photomatch view, there was a slight "jump" more/less commensurate with the discrepancy I was noticing. So for anyone else doing photomatches, be sure to hit the Twilight Scene view, then "ADD SCENE" because it also seems y...

Discrepancy in views - Is Photomatch the culprit?

My workflow on this particular project has been to render a scene (high6) using a grey sky color/no sun and a clay version using the same setup to enhance shading. I'll then export a couple different images of the same scene out of SKP. One, just shadows (no lines) which I colorize and set to multip...

Re: Disco Trees

Thanks. Is that the setting I should typically choose when using an HDR?
What's the "science" so to speak, behind it?

So I tried it... using just the medium setting... and it took twice as long and still has most of the spots. :/

Disco Trees

So I inserted some trees into my model from 3D warehouse, and suddenly the scene's a disco.
07 Easy; HDRI sky w/ sun off.

Only lights in the scene are a couple of point lights in the upstairs of the home on the left...
Thoughts?

Re: Overnight renders

I do have the save every 10 minute thing going.
I'll check the power settings, though I've noticed that if I display an image full-screen/slideshow in picture viewer, the machine doesn't sleep.
Might be a hassle-free work around LOL

Thanks!

Overnight renders

So on several occasions, I've hit render and gone to bed, only to find the image in the morning not progressed nearly as far as I expected. My computer appears asleep and I have to wake it up/sign in, but the "render duration" clock is at an appropriate time. Is it possible that nothing is...

Re: A way to estimate render time?

Say I'm using Easy 5 for a ~900px preview size render. Would it be appropriate to estimate ~4x longer for a 3800px render? Or am I over looking something? I think I am overlooking something... we're considering "area to be rendered" So it would be about 16x longer? (!?!?!?) 889,249px in 9...
