Reflective anomalies
I am sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find, a good answer. I made a new building today, when rendered I get unwanted reflections. I moved the model a bit and managed to reduce the effect. But it is still visible. Since I am just starting this project, I ran a preset 3 render to get a p...

Re: Another attempt a a moonlit scene.
Here is what I came up with, using SU material sparkling water, color white unlinked, bump at 0.4. Still experimenting.
No trees yet Fletch.

Re: Another attempt a a moonlit scene.
I just tried a non scientific approach to check my calibration. On Imaging resource, http://www.imaging-resource.com/ARTS/MONCAL/CALIBRATE.HTM There is a simple black and white "color test". Using JCP (just color picker) a little free color picker my numbers matched their numbers exactly. W...

Another attempt a a moonlit scene.
This is a model of a building I see everyday, re-purposed here as a place to hang out and swim, eat and drink. (not necessarily in that order). I like the way it looks but some rippled reflections in the pool would be better. Also the obelisks to the near side of the pool aren't quite right, a softe...

Re: Render Farm Build for Twilight and Kerkythea
I believe there would be a large market for this type of application of computers. My renders are OK, not great but OK, for my current purposes Ok is good enough for me. I have tried a couple of multi pass renders but...1 hour per pass and 10000 passes is not something I will be able to accomplish. ...

Re: Moonlit Commercial...sort of
Ok I tried some sunset images that I have, the problem is the sun is coming from the west, but the east end of the building is lit as if sun is coming from the east. Well obviously, that is not going to work, yes I set the sun in sketchup to the same time as the pic was taken (exif data). So I tried...

Re: Need to light a sign
I ended up using two IES based facade floods on the sign area, and added two more of the same on each outside edge of the building for a better balanced look. Not perfect but it looks OK. I will try your approach as well.

Re: Need to light a sign
First version with IES file from an 8' fluor fixture. Perhaps is it the position on the ies light, that is giving me trouble.

Need to light a sign
I have a sign on a model, in real life it could be lit from within, with fluorescent lamps. Lit from outside with fluorescent lamps shining on it. Here is what I tried so far, an 8' fluorescent ies from below, and above. I get bright spots that look like point lights 8 ft apart, not right. I tired a...
