Adds a big improvement, definitely.
In general, there is no benefit or use to painting back faces. Twilight will try to 'accomodate' back faces, but there is no advantage or special feature to doing so. It should be avoided if possible.

You can specify different textures for bump map and diffuse, but you can never specify different UV coordinates. SU simply only supports one set of UV coordinates. We take special care to try to prevent z-fighting of images with geometry. However, it is possible to have z-fighting between images if they overlap.

Indoor+. The fruit snacks are lit by two emitter planes and gray sky color. The peppermint has hdr lighting.
