Re: Pavilion

 aww shucks.

:ot:
The Alpha 2 is fantastic btw - OBJ export seems more reliable/stable (worked every time for me so far)
don't have my obj importer installed for SU at the mo. so just opened it in KT and rendered.

Re: Stone House and Pool

Found a good wall in town with stone much more like the original house... and was able to create a pretty good texture from it. Re: Sideboard

agree that either the High+ was not finished completely w/ AA pass, or when shrinking image to post, AA was somehow messed up.

Re: Pavilion

Oli,
have you played with Sculptris yet?
It's so fun I had to take it off my computer so I could get some real work done. no. seriously. I did.

But I saw a minute ago that a new alpha was released just last week, so there goes my evening... (hope he's fixed obj export!)

Re: carpet and fabric settings

:hat:

One thing not shown in the video.
  1. Open the final .png files you create for bump and specular,
  2. change color mode under Image to Image>Mode>Greyscale.
  3. Then RESAVE the .png. This will lose NO quality and be a much smaller file.

Re: pixel size for my bricks

I've never used the program, so can't answer that... hope others with chime in? :?

your resolution for the textures does not need to exceed the final rendering size. does that make sense?

Re: First serious render

you may want to redraw model with larger circles as 48 segments instead of 12.
apply materials/colors in SketchUp, then apply Twilight Templates to the materials.
light with HDR studio lighting.
