Re: How Fast Are You - Official Twilight Scene - Bauhaus Lam

After a lot of :wall: , including three dead machines  , and two HDD crashes  , I FINALLY got my render machine! AMD FX-8350 8-core @4.oo GHz 16 GB RAM GeForce GTX760 (2GB) :whoot: . So after a few kerfluffles with trying to get back into my account, change the password, update my email a...

Re: CHALLENGE: Lamp shade/glass material

Thank you for posting the scene and that mini tutorial. this may have just saved me a great deal of frustration. Congratulations on your progress BTW.
You have accomplished some things I can only dream of until I get my quadcore built (someday). Anyway, truly inspiring work, my friend.

Re: Rendering my Flat

It's very good, Spooky, try hold shift key while zooming out with your magnifying glass tool in SU. This will give you a wider camera angle. After rendering, straighten the verticals in Photoshop or similar program. When you build a curved object in SU, if you can see the segments in SU you will se...

Re: Rendering my Flat

You wont be having a party in there anytime soon will you mate? ;) Actually, You'd be surprised. We hosted a dinner party last night with no problem. The Living room is quite large, and the tiny, I mean, cramped, ermm...cozy kitchen is actually ok to work in--alone! For the frig- try the Meta...

Re: Rendering my Flat

realestate.com? :?: seriously though - corners seem a bit sharp, is the material on the fridge brushed metal? I already rounded the corners and edges on everything that has rounded corners or edges IRL. The cabinets and countertop certainly don't, as my bruise collection can demonstrate. The fridge...

Rendering my Flat

Here is a render of the kitchen in my flat. Yes, it really is that tiny, er, cozy, yes cozy, that's the term... Comments / suggestions welcome.

Some graininess here on certain surfaces, like the refrigerator. Not sure how to make it go away. The render had 185 passes.

Re: Finally!

Thanks, Fletch. :) I agree the white IS washed out and could use some detail. With the other stuff I have been doing, there is plenty of detail. With this though, I was trying to achieve a very specific look. The style of the cover art from that period tended to be that way. Here are a couple...

Finally!

After a year of working with Twilight, I am finally turning out renders I feel comfortable showing to the rest of the community. And here is the first of several...I was going for an early to mid 80's sci-fi book cover feel with this, and I think I got it. I do have some problems with the spherical ...

Re: Transparent Light Emitters-Is this possible?

had two more images, had to split the post. Sorry. And that basically defines what I was trying to do. I want the LEM to do it's job and put out some visible light, so it looks like a high intensity light source, but I also want it to function as it supposedly does with regard to windows.Oh, and if ...
