Re: How to add a "dirt map" to a painted surface?
thank you, this explanation actually helped more than you think ... i understood a bit about "layered materials" ... so, now I can be one step closer in making some more complex materials (can't wait to need them )

Re: How to add a "dirt map" to a painted surface?
I don't have, but try to imagine this: A egg-shell paint (doesn't matter the color), and that paint would have some less-shiny areas (like fatigue or friction marks) and even brighter areas (like dust/fingerprints - dust makes the surface to look a bit white-ish, brighter and not shiny), that are co...

How to add a "dirt map" to a painted surface?
I need to make a surface looking like a (matte) paint, but with some tearing on the surface, some less-reflective areas, like dust, or fingerprints, or scratches... I tried this: 1.From Deep Editor I made a Satin Paint template 2.under Diffuse, I added under Reflection a grayscale image representing...

Re: Alpha Mask Not Working Like Twilight V1
Are you talking about alpha masks resulted from rendering? And intended to be used in post-processing? Like cutting objects from their background? If so, the INTENDED way of the Alpha Mask is with sharp edges that follow perfectly the outline of the object. Any stray pixels or "halo" arou...

Re: Twilight Render "vs." Thea
I still fell like is "backward" myself. So, I set a NEW temperature that is higher, and the image becomes WARMER? Let's say I have a image that is 6000K (estimated). I adjust NEW to 7500K The ADJUSTED image will be now 7500K but it will look warmer (like I lowered the color temperature)?? ...

how a SSD internal drive affects TL performance vs HDD ?
I am thinking to upgrade my laptop by changing its mechanical HDD with a SSD. Usually, overall system performance can increase with about 40-50% because of that, as some people say.
I do wonder if in TL would be noticeable differences and why.
Thank you.

Re: Twilight Render "vs." Thea
I made a small experiment with those two images: I made them grayscale (for TL image I had to artificially match the background with thea image). Then I adjusted the levels and contrast, to see if I can bring both images in the same "area". And I could. That tells me the illumination is th...

Re: Twilight Render "vs." Thea
Does Thea uses Biased rendering modes?
Because from what I can see, what you rendered in Twilight was on Biased, not on Progressive mode.
Try with Twilight setting Easy9, see then the difference.
