I had an issue with some GE ies files, wondering if anyone else has. I did a render last night and had problems
with these files it appears that if you use them they corrupt existing ies based lights, in this case turned them into spot lights

Re: Longer than usual render time
Originally the image brought into TWR was like 929x560. now it is 1086x666, I didn't change anything. At any rate why the significantly longer render time? any idea?

Longer than usual render time
yeah I know it has been a long time since I have been here. I downloaded the latest greatest version of SketchUp. I noticed one thing right away the image is larger than it used to be, another thing I noticed later on was the render on 3, where I usually try things took about three times longer than...

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
Twr was running so fast tonight, this render at 7 took less than a minute, kind of blew me away.

Re: Fake emitters not emiting
Yes they are I checked that. First, after a bit of head scratching, I figured it out. I imported the pictures as pictures not as materials, we are good to go!

Fake emitters not emiting
Hi Guys! I downloaded the latest greatest TWR earlier today, it seems to work fine, but I have one problem, my fake emitters aren't emitting. Here is the problem, I have used fake emitters to light up computer screens in the past, but maybe I am missing a step, it has been a while. I select my mater...

Repeatability question
Attached are 4 renders using the same settings. When I say same, here is what I did render, close, render close. I never changed anything. But these four scenes are different.

Re: How to fake fire flames
I tried this technique, works well. Now how could it be done, where the flame is more than 2D? I don't think projecting the image on a cylinder would work, of course it would have to be lit from inside. I tried a radial array, the results did not look right. In the meantime, here is my contribution ...

New moonlit model experiment
Yesterday I was needing a project. Well I found it, an abandoned "discount department store". 90,800 square feet of building. Using the tricks I have learned here I think I have the moonlit scene thing almost figured out. What do you think? (the background image is one of my own, taken in ...
