Corners and edges emitting light?

Post by lauraswyers » Tue Oct 23, 2018 2:29 pm

Hello!
I am creating a model of a street that I'm trying to use a clay render setting with. The model has no textures, but a lot of detail. No matter what I try, I keep getting these glowing edges and corners in my model.
I've looked in a couple threads on here and nothing has helped.
I can remove the lights using Photoshop, but it takes a lot of work and I'd really like to solve the problem.
I'm still a student, so I don't know everything there is about sketchup and twilight, so please use layman's terms!

Thanks guys.

This is what my model looks like without being rendered. As you can see there's no textures.

This is from low final gathering settings. If you were rendering with textures this would be less noticeable.
  1. Render your final image with Easy 08 Daytime Exterior render setting. (highly recommended in your case, here). (keep in mind Easy 08 works best with physical sky, sky color, or .jpg format spherical sky, not great with HDR spherical sky images.)
  2. Try using biased render setting developed for your case. You can use the Sun&Sky render settings - look for them in the other render settings folder that came with Twilight V2.
Start with lower settings and work your way up - the Medium setting may surprise you.

  3. Manually increase final gathering settings, save your own render setting, and render with that.

Thank you, I'll try this out.
Is there any way to do this with the Clay render settings? If not I can find a way around it, but I really like how it looks.

understandable, but, no.
well, you can tweak the clay render settings manually, but it's not simple.

apologies, but yes, that's for professional version users only.
But your answer is already given - use the sun and sky settings, option 1 as I posted above.
