Save as PNG

Post by ntxdave » Sun Mar 03, 2019 4:55 am

Stupid questions (I have not used Twilight n a while):
  1. Is there a way to save my render in a PNG format?
  2. I want to have my render have a white (or transparent if I can save as png) background and still be able to get my metal objects to look descent. Is there a good way to achieve that? You can see the image below. I want the equipment to look like it does in the image (or even a little more shiney - forget the other dumb stuff though) but I need a white or transparent background and the ability to resize the image in a pdf file.

Not sure how the window looks on Windows machines, but you should have a "file type" option on Twilight's save window. Attached screenshot of how it looks on my Mac.

What does the entire "Save" window look like ? Try retyping .jpg to .png in the filename box.......

Yes, I had tried that (and just did again) but it saves it as jpg.

I also just noticed that I also do not have the Exploration Render function either. I am wondering what else I might be missing.

I just looked and my installed version is 2.12.9 Pro. It says that I am up to date.

I have not used Twilight for a good while and I am having some problems getting back up to date. Need to understand some of the Post Processing settings and some other stuff. My initial looks at tutorials and documentation does not lead me to understanding a lot of the settings I know I have used in the past...………….

I appreciate the assistance...………..

BTW: Here is latest version of a render of that same model: Oops - could not post file to large. Rendered it again in a smaller format so I can share my progress.

Sorry I wasn't able to help. Not familiar with how things look on Windows unfortunately. Hopefully Chris or Fletch will be along to help. :!

If you can only save as JPG, your Pro license probably needs to be re-activated. Hobby (and unactivated Pro) only allow saving as JPG.

However, saving as PNG won't save a transparent background. It is a lossless format though and I always prefer to save renders as PNG.

OK, I just posted in another thread that I am missing some things since updating to SU 2019.

I did not think I could do transparent but the resizable is important to me.
