SketchUp FredoPortrait Plugin

I would like to see Twilight work with Fredo6 to support using Twilight Render with Fredo6's FredoPortrait plugin. In particular, his plugin has the capability to generate an image with a transparent background as well as supporting the option to generate images of only part of the model. I can see many uses for both of these capabilities and personally feel it would be a great addition to Twilight's capabilities.

Chris/Fletch, any chance you guys might consider making TWR work with Fredo's latest plugin?

It has some really neat features that could really be useful.

Hello Dave, we will take a look.
I watched Fred's introduction and it was not clear to me from your request specifically how Twilight needs to integrate?
transparent background
We have had this from the beginning with rendering the alpha mask.
as well as supporting the option to generate images of only part of the model
We have had this from the beginning with "render selected object" as an option.

Please describe how would you imagine these features working differently when working with Fredo's plugin? :hat:

When I have looked at the alpha mask before, it has seemed pretty complicated to me. The FredoPortrait plugin makes it very easy. :)

Yes, you can do that but again, if you look at the plugin, it gives you a lot more features like being able to maneuver the selected object you are going to render (i.e. change the camera angle) independent of the rest of the model. Just more flexibility.

To be very honest, I am not exactly sure how I personally would use it but as I stated above, the plugin give you some ease and flexibility that could be valuable for many users. In the current state of the plugin, you can only use Thea for rendering or export as a separate model and render from there.

I think Twilight is an excellent rendering tool and you guys are very good at support for your user base. There are some other features I would also like to see but will share those thoughts some other time. :rspkt:
