I need interior rendering help!
I need interior rendering help!
It's my first time using Twilight render and so far I think it's a great rendering software especially for beginners like me.
But for some reason, I can't make the sky background in the window show up! It's always a white background. I tried following tutorials posted here but I can't get it right. Not sure if I'm missing anything.
So far, I've only tried rendering it using Easy 01 and Easy 04.
Here are the settings for the rendering:
And here are the settings for the environment: I am only using the free version so hopefully there are solutions suitable for me

Re: I need interior rendering help!
Did you try changing the sky color in the setting where it says Sky Color?
Re: I need interior rendering help!
There are two likely explanations. The first is that you have increased the image exposure and it is blowing out the brighter light from outside (the same thing happens with real photos). Or the material / geometry of the window is not typical. We would need more information to know for sure.

Agree with Chris.
Try inserting a spherical sky image of trees - it will look better anyway.
Also, is your window glass set to "Architectural" or "thin" glass? Standard "realistic glass" would be bad.
You are asking about the sky, but this is related to a frequently asked question by all who start rendering which is why we have the FAQ.

Re: I need interior rendering help!
Hi everyone! Thank you all for your help.
I tried adjusting the exposure but the outside is still white.
I tried the "spherical sky" but the image I used was too zoomed-in and I didn't know how to adjust the image. I ended up using the "picture on a plane" trick with "physical sky".
The result is great but there's a white glow in the chair area. I think the outside lighting is causing it but I'm not sure how to get rid of it. It still shows up even if I change the time of day and when I render in easy 04.
The window glass is set to "architectural: common".
Let me know if you have any more lighting comments and suggestions I can do to improve!
Thank you everyone!

Re: I need interior rendering help!
Set the white wall to be 85% grey and the white artifacts will go away. If not, try 80%.
This is in the Preflight checklist - follow that checklist before each rendering and you will be well on your way to Happy Render Land

Thanks Fletch!
Finally got the rendered images I wanted. Rendered them at Easy 05 for about 6-7 hours each. Don't know if that's too long but overall, I'm happy with it!
Again, thank you everyone for your help!

Re: I need interior rendering help!
Glad you were successful.
Depends on the computer used. What are your computer specs? CPU is most important. Sounds a bit slow if you have a new computer. Try Easy 09 and with Fast Forward denoise plugin.
