Update blocked

Post by rparsons » Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:48 pm

I tried to install the latest posted by Chris (I think) today but Microsoft Defender blocked it stating it could harm your device. Is there a different approach to getting the update? Thanks for all of your help.

Did you try to choose the 3 dots and choose to install anyway?
Twilight Render will not harm your computer. We would not benefit in any way from that happening.

As Fletch said, Twilight Renders installers are clean. Sometimes anti-virus software generates what are called "false positives". Those usually resolve themselves eventually. Other times, Windows decides it doesn't want to install anything that isn't "signed" by them (which is almost certainly the case; note that the text says "it could harm"; they didn't bother to actually scan it). But usually you can choose to install it anyway.

There is no ad-ware, spam, bots, viruses, or anything in Twilight Render. Like Fletch said, it wouldn't benefit us in any way.

If you have concerns, you can always run the installer through a separate, third-party antivirus. MalwareBytes is a good free option.

Thanks for the replies. And FYI, I just tried it again, it downloaded fine, reported no problems and installed perfectly. Thanks again for all of the help. Ron
