Polished concrete Prelim Vs Easy 09

Post by NStocks » Wed Feb 03, 2021 3:42 pm

Hi all,

I'm rendering an interior scene with the template polished concrete. The concrete looks realistic with Prelim, but in Easy 09, even after several hours there is just no glossiness to the material.

Am I missing something?

Is there another material asset I need to add in order to render glossiness in Easy 09-10?

Strange. I will look into it immediately.
Set view to Monochrome and check please:
Is the face of your floor reversed?

Which Polished Concrete template are you using?
Are you using "perfect reflection">polished concrete
Or
Are you using "advanced reflection">polished concrete (HINT: use this one!)

Is this looking right?
Adjust the shininess and IOR as needed

Possible settings adjustments you might like.

I was using the perfect reflection">polished concrete - I don't see the "advanced reflection">polished concrete (Hobby version, perhaps?)

I've upped the shininess to 200 and I'm just rendering that out currently.

Right, this template is a Pro version template, sorry.

This is a complex material and "perfect reflection">polished concrete" is sort of "tricking" the Easy 1-7 render settings into rendering nicely, but those tricks don't work with Easy 09 or 10.
I suggest Easy 09 over easy10 for architectural interiors.

This wouldn't be possible in the hobby version?

Does the pro version allow for PBR material creation?
