Now I want to go off and try the aplha mask thing..........not sure I totally get what I am supposed to do but want to learn it anyway....even though I have Gimp installed, I have not really used it so I am a little confused about what I am supposed to do.

Well, it took a lot of "fooling around" but I finally got the AlphaMask feature to work. I actually had to use Gimp and another tool (did not learn how to do some things in Gimp yet) but here is an image I created where I used the alpha mask to create a couple of images with a transparent background. I then combined them in Xara with a silly color background just to show that I got it to work. Here is the image:

Gotta do some more learning in Gimp so I can do the whole process there. Hope you guys like this one.

Thanks Fletch.

Was your input that got me interested in this. Wish I would have known how to do this sooner. I can see many uses for this approach. You have also peaked my interest in learning Gimp. Just proves that retirement does mean we cannot still learn and have some fun. :whoot:

One last post (at least in this thread ;) ) after doing a little bit more playing around. Still have a ways to go to learn GIMP better.
