weird shadows

Post by 10us » Mon Mar 29, 2021 11:13 am

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me in the right direction. When I render the ceiling in this model tere are all sorts of weird shadows showing up. Check the streaks coming from the ceiling light. Tried a lot of things to fix it but I am stuck now.

What I tried and doesn't help:
- turn off the sun
- Turn of the backgrond
- turn off the lights
- turn off all objects in the room and all environment
- turn off the light fixture
- change ceiling material
- get rid of the opening in the ceiling.

So the only way I can get rid of these shadows is by removing the ceiling-opening completely. Even with only the lines left on the ceiling the weird shadows are still there. The same lights are perfectly fine in a different room...
What to try next?

Looks like a problem with the ceiling geometry.
If you want to try to fix yourself, try deleting and re-making the ceiling as a solid box in a group.
Make sure all faces are facing correctly, no reversed faces.

Please post a link to the model and we will diagnose.
