Problem with warped texture

Post by leedeetee » Wed Oct 26, 2011 3:42 pm

Hi,

Just trying to improve my TWR skills with a model and render of a local stately home. Going well until I did a test render and getting strange results at the top of a window where the texture, appears warped. Can anyone shed any light as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

The above is probably a stupid question. Thank-you for your patience.

Projected texture?

A couple things to try:
first, make sure it is not a reversed face
second, subdivide the face of the arch with a few lines.
third, right click the face, and choose "make unique"

Thanks Fletcch,

It wasn't a projected texture, just a normal stretched texture.

The faces were fine and the addition of lines didn't help but 'making unique' sorted the problem, many thanks for your input.

Hm. This should not actually happen since Twilight can perfectly render distorted textures (quite exceptionally, too, I should add). Making unique is an ultimate and desperate step that can be a cure of many things but of course, it introduces new materials and additional hassle to tweak them.

How did you stretch that texture at first?
