Trying out simulating a single recessed fluorescent light, but the light output is WAY too bright...
Output should be about 1500-2000 lumens.
File attached.
Any help is appreciated!
thanks,
Andrew

Re: Lights way too bright?
Your material is set to 135,000 Lumens. If you just want it to be 1,500 lumens, change the power to 1500 (or whatever you want it to be).
Note that, because you have chosen Total Output, the lumens you choose will be spread across all your lights (divided up by area). So if you have more than one light, you will need to multiply your lumens by the number of lights (assuming they are the same size). Alternatively, you can work out the area of your lights to determine your lumens / sq. meter and then set your output to be "Per Sq. Meter".

Re: Lights way too bright?
Hi Chris-
I have it set to 1500.... not sure why you're seeing 135,000.
However, the rendering as it's showing up (while indeed too bright) is certainly nowhere near 135,000 lumens!
thanks,
Andrew

Re: Lights way too bright?
Oh, you are using an old version. For accurate lighting, you should update to the most recent version as we have made changes to how the lighting power is calculated (it's also a lot easier to use).

Here's the rendering.

Re: Lights way too bright?
Whoops! Did not know that... thanks!
Re: Lights way too bright?
Is there a new manual or guide for this?
The 2.0 guide doesn't mention "lumen" or "emitter" so I figure there may be a better guide available. Couldn't find it, though!
thanks,
Andrew
