Sketchup 2017 is available
Sketchup 2017 is available
Hi,
Anyone try it yet?
Does current Twilight run, or will we need to update?
Thanks,
Glenn

Re: Sketchup 2017 is available
The way plugins work with SU2017 is completely changed - all plugins must be updated in order to work with SU2017.
We will release an updated version of Twilight Render soon. We have a working beta.

Fletch,
Thanks for the info. glad I asked since I'm in the middle of a few projects.
I'll wait to install Su 2017 during next slow period.

Seems Twilight works fine yet on 2017!
Re: Sketchup 2017 is available
So how did you get yours to work Pilou? Can you share your work around?
Re: Sketchup 2017 is available
I just Copy Past the arborescence of Folders/ Files that I had in 2016!
(but I have not all explore)
Alas this trick don't work for another program like Visualizer!

Re: Sketchup 2017 is available
Do not do this. It should not work. SU2017 uses a totally new version of Ruby and so it should not be compatible. If it somehow works, you got lucky. We will have the updated version of Twilight Render up today in just a few hours.Pilou wrote:I just Copy Past the arborescence of Folders/ Files that I had in 2016!

The SketchUp team loves to just spring the new releases on everyone without telling developers without telling them it's going to happen. I sure wish they would say "In 24 hours..." or something, but they don't.

Subject: SketchUp 2017 and Twilight Render V2.7
Chris wrote:You might have noticed that SketchUp 2017 is now out. http://www.sketchup.com/products/sketch ... ew-in-2017
And with it, we are releasing a new version of Twilight Render, V2.7! SketchUp 2017 updates the required Ruby version for plugins and introduces a whole new 3D graphics pipeline for its model view. The new version of Twilight Render is compatible with these changes. We've also made some bug fixes and improvements:
SketchUp 2017 introduces a lot of new hardware and software requirements. You can read more about that here: https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/36208. Note that some users will not be able to upgrade to SU 2017 on older computers with older graphics cards. Your card must support OpenGL 3.0 or higher. Also note that SketchUp is dropping support for OSX 10.9. It is important for OSX users to note that we are also changing the minimum supported OSX versions; we are dropping support for OSX 10.8 for all installations of Twilight Render V2.7 and above and the minimum OSX version is now 10.9.
- Fixed a material template bug that could cause lost or erroneous data when switching between templates.
- Fixed an issue with certain kinds of IES light files that weren't being read correctly.
- Added a 'Fit to SketchUp View' option for the Exploration Renderer.
- Improved the license activation process. You no longer need to copy the Computer ID from the Options window when using the Activation link in the Options -> License page.
Even if you aren't upgrading to SketchUp 2017, we recommended installing the latest version of Twilight Render (excepting OSX 10.8 users).
Re: Sketchup 2017 is available
Appears to be working now for SU 2017
Re: Sketchup 2017 is available
After installing the (licensed) V2 plugin in SU 2017 the render window did show at first. But when I opened SU again after a few days the render dialiog is gone.
Using the ForceWindowVisible.exe I can see the Twilight render dialogbox, but it is empty. It will not dock in the toolbar nor will it return visible after restarting SU.
What can be wrong?
