This is a just an FYI really
So I'm gradually upgrading to a new workstation and noticed this funny effect.
Here is an output from the old pc:
And here it is from the New workstation:
Now something you may notice is that the quality from the newer PC is much better, with noticeable 'by default' bump. It's also changed the reflected windows, but that's not a bother and understandable as it was created in an older version of sketchup.
Just passing on my observations in case they help.

Looks like you've updated Twilight render - it's not your machine!

Ha! Well in sure I had v2 on the older one, really sure! I'll have a look at the old one before it's decommissioned...I. e., given to my old folks!
Thanks for the link though, I'll have a read now, although I do recall skipping over it recently.
Cheers! Chris

Ahhhh, quick update, you were quite right Fletch, could have sworn I had the pro version installed on the laptop, but no!
It might be an idea, but how about a watermark or something similar for the free/cheap version? OK, a watermark might be unfair, but something similar - otherwise some (like me!) might think they've installed it properly on first glance.
Cheers!

If you do not have the pro version, it should be reminding you about that every once in a while. If it's not doing that then...
