Maybe you're using the physical sky, and the sky is blue. Try making the sun color a bit yellow to compensate, or just change the sky type to "Sky Color" (not Background color) and choose white.

Reset as suggested, but it just re-rendered the same thing (in 2m instead of 2 hrs). I had Advanced settings set to "All".

Registered version this time.

This is the same model (a little closer in and larger 1920x1126). It is only 55% antialiased as you can tell by the "jaggies" (8hr 18min) at High+ on an 8-core MacPro with 16GB memory.

I still don't really know what I'm doing, but it's enormous fun learning.

Looks like the blue cast has improved. Was it just from changing the sky to white?

Hi Bob!

8 hours feels waaaaaaay to much for an 8 core...
check out this thread about reducing rendering time by using the proper lights:

Cheers,

All the lights are spotlights: aren't these supposedly the fastest?

MUCH to learn :)

P.S. and that 8hrs was only at 55% antialiasing

Most definitely... Spot- and point-lights are the fastest...

However, I agree that 8 hours for a scene like this seem way too loooooong... :totgm:
Your scene/model looks fairly simple and I don't see you've used any special materials or alike...
On an 8 core, this scene/model should render in less than 5 minutes...
So I really wonder why it takes this long... :?

Are you able to share the model/scene, enabling us to take a look at it...??
Cheers
