Easy Studio Light setup for Product Shot

Post by Fletch » Thu Apr 15, 2021 6:33 pm

Here is an idea for a very easy studio lighting setup for a chrome product shot like this light fixture. (works for any product, but the chrome requires strong reflectors in the right position)

Using 4 rectangular emitter planes to create a studio for this light fixture, place them in a box-like patter around the object.
Set the back planes as emitter material with power at 150w/m2
Set the Front Left and Front Right emitter planes with emitter at 500w/m2

Now refine your reflections on the front of your object: rotate the left and right front emitter planes +/- 10 degrees using your product's position as the central pivot point and render small test images in the Exploration Render window to see the changes very quickly.
