SketchUV plugin released

Post by rclub24 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 5:32 pm

The guy behind Artisan, Bool Tools and Profile Builder (Dale Martens) has released SketchUV. It's a UV Mapping plugin for SketchUp.

We did a review for our webmag on SketchUcation which you can read here (Issue 9)....

Or if you head on over to Smustard you can checkout a few videos of it in action.

Bought this yesterday - just need a project to try it out on!!!
The above is probably a stupid question. Thank-you for your patience.

FYI: many of the exporter plugins will "explode" distorted, single images into zillions of image pieces (this is a "feature" - a sort of difference between SU UV mapping and other file formats' UV mapping) unless you triangulate the surfaces (Dale has built in a special triangulation algorithm to do this).

However Twilight Render (and also already Thea to be fair here) handle these UV maps correctly without the need of any kind of triangulation.
