Re: Wood and Concrete Spot Lights
Continuing the line of excellence I see. Muddy brilliant.
Re: Wood and Concrete Spot Lights
This component would come with a modified version of the default "Cherry Wood" which comes default with SU. (shown above)
But you can easily swap it out for a high quality wood texture you may have.
Here also shown is an updated concrete material that employs Twilight procedurals.

Re: Wood and Concrete Spot Lights
I see you kept yourself busy to "in" "light" us.
Do you still using that other software?

Re: Wood and Concrete Spot Lights
This model was fully quad modeled with procedural modifiers in Blender.
Then imported as Collada .dae file type, and Texture Mapped with Twilight V2 Pro tools.
Then material templates applied with Twilight Materials.
Lights added with Twilight Light Objects.
It is ready to render in all SketchUp scenes. And will be in the next light components pack for Twilight Pro users.

Re: Wood and Concrete Spot Lights
Another concrete fixture - 3 different sizes.
I really want to know what other people think of the design or about these concrete light fixtures - for me, they are... meh.

Re: Wood and Concrete Spot Lights
They look very high quality, but also poly heavy in relation to the size they'll end up being in a rendered image.
Perhaps offer low poly proxies?

Ok, if you want more words than "well done", then here goes.
Why people buy yellow cars, why people use hallmark clothes!? Just to pop of the crowd I suppose. I can't believe that only the designer like his work. Theres are a lot of "tastes" in our mixed cultural global world.
In the 10 past years we watch a boom on light fixtures just because of the LED thecnology that permits an unimaginable forms and colors. If it is a concrete cilinder or a ballerina tutu suspended from the ceiling they always have a spot in a myriad of conditions and gender types.
About the last one you post, it goes well along a wall, lighting at the same time stair steps has presence light (not for a couple with young kids, for sure). Concrete, plexiglass or cork, materials that have been refined along the years, so why not!? Cork... well big industry in here, as example many young entrepeneurs are transforming the way we look for cork, they looking beyond stoppers and isolation blocks. We have now interior relief tiles, jars, bags, hats and for the more eccentric, even neck ties.
About the light components pack: do the components come with SU optimized components with same geometry inside or just like been imported? Do they need such amount of coplar edges? Some textures, like cables only work for product shots.
Hey... I'm questionable... I have a slow computer.
