Hello all,
I have a question that I did a search for but couldn't find an answer, what is the difference between Easy 09 and Easy 10? I did this on Easy 10 to see if I could see a difference and I cannot. It is so slow to render, this was after about 100 passes and still grainy looking after rendering for about 20 hours. The lighting is set up to reflect reality, windows at both ends of the room, a few 100 watt point lights and I also used an emitter in the corner opposite the camera. Any suggestions would be most helpful! Thanks!

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1646 - Check out this link... Fletch explains the differences between the different render settings very well. I'm sure Fletch and Chris will be along with further help.

Thank you @tuna57 , just what I was looking for!
Re: Slow rendering on kitchen layout
I would use Easy 09 - it's faster than Easy 10, but usually looks just as good.
Easy 10 will give caustics with sun/sky while Easy 09 does not. This doesn't matter at all in your scene.
I suggest you try the alternative render setting Medium 04b just to see how fast it is and how good it looks in comparison for the time saved.
I never render architectural shots with Easy 10.
Best thread ever about product shots/studio shots on Twilight's forum.

Re: Slow rendering on kitchen layout
I started fresh with the lighting. Took everything out and started over. I'm liking the image more now but I think I have lost objectivity because I've been looking at it too long lol. I rendered on easy 09. The only lights not visible in the image are a few wall sconces I placed on the wall behind the camera. Windows at both ends with physical sky, sun strength at 5.

Re: Slow rendering on kitchen layout
Much better . I think the only thing left is some minor adjustments to various lights strengths. To me it seems the can lights above the island and cabinets are "blowing" out the front of the cabinets too much. Maybe lowering the sun strength a small amount also, 4 or 4.5 ? Still all in all a much better image than the first .

I agree exactly with Tuna,
Here's the image with a little enhancement in post-pro.

Re: Slow rendering on kitchen layout
@tuna57 I agree, I have struggled with those pot lights and keep playing around with them.
That looks good Fletch! I haven't done any post-pro yet so will keep working on it! I am rendering another version with dark floor and cabinets (the seller is offering 2 colour schemes) so will post that when it's done also.
Thanks a bunch!
