Fork and Spoon

Again, a simple scene geometry wise, consisting of a spoon, fork and ground plane.

Materials: Fork & Spoon - Twilight Material Library> Chrome-NK
Ground Plane - Template Material> Stone Polished

Lighting: Background/Sky Type - Sky Probe> Kitchen Probe HDRI

Camera: DOF with an F number of 30

Photoshop - Slight contrast adjustment, added lens flare effect.

I set up my camera view in Sketchup to my liking, apply the HDRI as the background and then using the sky rotation input I rotate the background in 10 degree increments through to 360, I do a short test render of each and save to refer back to choose the most desired lighting effect. With this chosen kitchen sphere I had to lower the brightness to 0.2, making use of the built in Twilight Render post processing tools I applied, Bloom, Vignette, Temperature adjustment and Linear Tone Mapping. Took about 30 mins at a resolution of 1400x1000 using Render Preset >Tech >Progressive >04MLT(BPT)

Yeah I also mess around with materials and lighting just to see what comes of it, and it's nice to see when others provide detailed explanations of their settings/materials ;)

The materials and lighting look good, can't say much else there

Now, the one thing I would point out is the spoon. The edge between the curved surface and the "side" of the spoon is a perfect corner, and kinda stands out in the rendering. What I'd do is add a very subtle bevel to the edge, that would make it look more natural and would also catch light coming from the side, giving it the highlight you often see on shiny objects.

But still, well done :gj:

Rangerrick is good to see your renders again, more often.
Let me say that you, among others like, Fymoro, Boofredlay, Frederik, Olishea and Magid are guilty me to buy Twilight Render. :rspkt: to all of You.

Thanks all for your comments.
Andrew, good eye, you've made a valid point about that edge, after all it really is these little details that are so very
important in these close up renders.

Paulo, very kind and humbling of you to put me in the company of the others you mentioned. Believe me that your creative ideas and eye for detail that you incorporate into your digital rendered art are extraordinary. You set that bar very high.
