Monitor calibration is the bane of digital art/film/colorists.
I use dual monitors, and all images look different on them both, no matter how carefully calibrated. Laptops adjust brightness automatically depending on certain things like battery, etc.

Side note , I remembered to cross check the final post pro image on the monitor I run with my MacBook Pro just to compare the results I got on the iMac
