Vault - Passageway

Post by tuna57 » Sun Jul 14, 2019 5:58 pm

Started as just a test of some concrete textures I haven't used before, got a little out of hand. Had planned on putting a lot more stuff down the sides of the space..... got some barrels in place and kind of liked the more minimal look.

Only light is a point light in the overhead fixtures, power is set to 150 watts with the color temp set to match the wattage.
Rendered Easy 9, 2200 px - 1259 px . !00 passes , about 13 hours on the iMac. Post pro in Affinity.

Some reason find myself drawn to this sort of thing with the subtle effects of the lighting . Good practice also :^: .

Very good, is it a wine or spirit store? Perhaps some more barrels and a rack system? :^:

Thanks Mike. It's what ever your imagination wants it to be. Had the thought of running all kinds of pipes and cables, stacking both sides with barrels, drums, boxes and gosh knows what else..... but brought the barrels into the scene and happened to run a test checking the light power and just really liked the simplicity of it as is. Suppose it could be an underground passage between your two castles or maybe bunkers ?

One of the hospitals I worked in had one of these tunnels between two departments. It was used to move psychiatric patients to operating theatres for surgical care. It was originally considered bad form to allow these folk to be seen by 'normal' or 'sensitive' folk.
We used it to get from a to b without getting soaked.

There is something very Bond or henchman's lair about some of your work, it's bloody good to see.

Thanks again Mike. I think some of the weird stuff I do is just a reflection of my weird brain :? :^: .

Had to mess about with this some more. Changed out the "stuff " in the passageway. Shooting for the viewer wondering just what's going on around the bend  . Tweaked on the textures a little and dropped the power of the lights a small amount.

Rendered Easy 9 , 100 passes , 2200px - 1292px . 13 hrs. on the iMac. Post pro in Affinity.

Side note changed the title of thread .... it left the "testing" stage a good while back.

Thanks gentlemen....... :^:
I'm a little obsessed with this stuff..... Here's another version of that last render. Only difference is in the post pro . I think I like the "tone" of this one better  .
