My, MSI Trident X

Post by rangerrick » Fri Jul 26, 2019 3:11 am

After nearly 10 years of faithful service, I have retired my old computer. After months of research I settled on the MSI Trident X.
9700K, RTX 2070, 32Gb Ram, 512 GB NVME SSD (Windows loaded here) 1TB 7200 rpm 2.5" HDD (for Data), 512GB Samsung QVO (for Data). It is a Small Form Factor SFF system case, only 3.75" wide, 15" High, 14" Depth. Quality engineered for great cooling of the graphics, CPU, and power supply. For the most part it is exceptionally quiet as I have this system right next to me on my desk, the CPU fan cooler will ramp up to about 60% during a Twilight render. The GPU is buttery smooth in Lumion. This machine is really targeted towards gaming, I am however not a gamer, but do need the CPU and graphic power for the work I do. So far I am loving the power, performance and looks.

For my first SketchUp/Twilight exercise on this machine, I decided to create a model of the system and of course do some Twilight renders.

Fletch, here in Canada there are 3 configured models available
Model 9SD-048CA 9700K, RTX 2070 Msi Armor, 450 Watt p.s. 2549.99
Model 9SE-047CA 9700K, RTX 2080 Msi Ventus, 650 watt p.s. 2999.99
Model 9SF-059CA 9900k, RTX 2080ti Msi Ventus, 650 watt p.s. 3599.99

There are other computer solutions that are cheaper, r build your own, but for me I really liked the sff case and the components.

Thanks all for the comments

Ten years ...! Well, let it be a lesson to all of us, and be jealous of Rangerrick's ecological footprint (hardware related).
About the renders; I have long spent my quota of :rspkt: with him.
