Underwater Submersible

Post by Sergio » Wed Mar 18, 2020 12:29 pm

This is an underwater scene that I have been working on based on an original model from the 3D warehouse by Ringof G. The original model was modified in Sketchup to make it more realistic for rendering purposes. Lights were added post process as Twilight can't handle volumetrics with unbiased engine. All comments are welcome as usual.

Hi Fletch, as you can see nothing complicated or clever, just a backdrop image with the ocean background and a bit of post processing for the lights and tone mapping. I tried to do the volumetric lights with the volumetric box material but render times were far too long and the results not very convincing. Do you know a way to render the lights with any of the unbiased methods?

Beautiful!

You can use a Projector light and an image of caustics to shine onto the submersible if you want the caustics.
