One number 10, two number 15's and one number 19. Four number 36 and two extra packs of prawn crackers, please.

Thanks mate, still getting to grips with the dof where I want it, in that render the glass on the left was intended to be in focus but this is going to be a while and I am quite happy with that.

Mike1158 wrote: Wed Mar 03, 2021 2:19 pm I have watched the tut, it mentions being able to double the f stop but you have two tuts which are basically the same unless they are just mislinked.
They are the same tutorial. Not two different tutorials.
Where it says "double the F stop" I'm not pushing any special button I am simply typing in the number I want to use, yes you can select from the little F-stop typical sizes drop down list, but I'm just doubling the number manually by typing in the f-stop I want.

I have found over the years that by doubling or halving settings numbers I can more efficiently discover their effects.
So if F-stop of 22 isn't working for me, I may cut that in half and use 11, if still not satisfied, then I may try 6 or 5. In the video I went from 16 to 8 to 4, then from 16 to 32 to 64... that's my way of quickly showing how changes to the parameter are effecting the results.
Mike1158 wrote: Wed Mar 03, 2021 2:19 pm I know you are trying to help, in the tut the tool is available in the window of exploration render which is why I was looking there.
It says in the video tutorial at 1:11 here to use the Scene View Tool to set the focal point
Mike1158 wrote: Wed Mar 03, 2021 2:19 pm I see, scene view is the view icon. A little different in description than in the tut or anywhere else but I do take things too literally sometimes, mea too culpa.
I apologize if it is confusing, it is difficult sometimes to remember how these terms are all easily complicated in our heads when we are learning.
Mike1158 wrote: Wed Mar 03, 2021 2:19 pm I will get there. I'm not bothered by this btw, I know that my little issues make getting knowledge from video tuts more difficult for me but that, is my problem. Thanks for all the hard work you guys do, you make a difference
Thanks for your patience.

Got it, thank you.

This is more like the render I had in my mind, glasses in focus and able to reflect the kitchen area behind the camera but the 3d figures out of focus which I expected (Hoped) would improve their appearance. I'll leave it up to you whether it works or not. I am biassed, at lest the Cats and Badgers think so.

It has been pointed out on the Sketchucation forum that the glass on the left is stretched due to the dof or the basic render view I selected. I missed it, mea culpa.

This is not from DOF but rather from FOV - field of view - the wide angle lens causes distortion around the outside edges. Normal.

Thanks mate, rethinking a few things for the bedroom renders.

No upper floor renders yet but a garden setting into the house.
