stone-clad house

Post by DEGIO59VANNI » Sat May 01, 2021 2:15 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm satisfied with this external render, but my problem is the lawn. I used MAKE FUR but it is not realistic, I downloaded SKATTER on trial, I will use it in the next job, are there other alternatives? Only images inserted with photoshop?
Regarding the background, I followed one of your tutorials, but what should the image size and pixer / inch resolution be?
Thank you
Stephen

Welcome Stephen, as you can imagine, spherical sky images are a topic very well-discussed already on the forum, I am linking you to those discussions now.

The short answer is this: if you are rendering your final image at X pixels wide, the spherical sky will need to be 8x-16x pixels wide (spherical sky must be 2:1 ratio) to have a chance of appearing "sharp" in your final rendering. See graphic below. If you do not have enough RAM to handle such a large image texture for your sky, best thing is to render alpha mask and put a high quality image in using photoshop.

Make fur is good- I think you need to choose a better model to instance with the plugin. Or perhaps the color is just overly / unrealistically saturated.

Skatter gives amazing results in a few clicks, but is not required.

ps - the wildlife are not adding to the realism - If your goal is photorealism in SketchUp you may need to avoid living animals or people in your renderings unless it is the occasional distant bird.

thanks flatch,
I want to try to change color, thickness and length in MAKE FUR and then i will do an experiment with SKATTER
About wild animals I put them to laugh :D :D because the owner of the house saw wild boars, fawns and other birds nearby.
Hello and happy Sunday
