Majid, this is another great demonstration how important tonemapping is. I have said it before, and will say it again, tone mapping is just as important as modeling, texturing, lighting... it's an integral part of the rendering process. It takes practice and experience and a good eye. It cannot be overstated how important tone mapping is to our renderings.

There's a "magic button" to do this in Photoshop if you don't want to learn how to tone map inside the render dialog for Twilight Render. But it will only go "so far". After that it's up to the eye of the artist to take the image "across the finish line".

Learn how to use the auto-correct function to tone map your rendering with curves in Photoshop here.

Thank you dear Fletch for the detailed description. I think everyone may reach a "decent" result if follows your described steps. I myself, as you may remember from Kerkythea forum, started from "mimicry". I used to try replicating a simple scene over a photo. It helped me in modeling, materials, lighting, and implicitly "tone mapping".
I have repeated this process as many times as possible and still do it if could have some spare time, if not I carefully "observe" architectural images or renders. I pay attention to models, especially plants and foliage, furniture, lighting and texturing, and overall composition.
P.S.: Respecting the author's taste, as I am a fan of Nordic interiors and Italian/Greece rural exteriors, I prefer bright interiors.
