it seems only the base renders correctly though. from the base upwards there is no bump. what did you do?export then import?

Used Vue to map texture.

hmmmmmmmmmm

I tried wings but it didn't like the obj for some reason. I keep getting jagged geometry sticking out of it! I'll have to learn another uv mapper  . i cant get my head round blender; there are just too many buttons!! :?

seems there's something odd, Oli, with the texture mapping which you say is "perfect."
don't know if it's SU, UV tool, or TWL, or combination of some or all of those...
here's an example...

did you scale the base after building/mapping it?

so based on that experiment, I realized it was just a texture scale issue on the base, and a matter of better Anti-aliasing.

template: Brushed Metal Silver
renders perfectly. ;) check it out.

bloody fantastic news there Fletch!! those renders look amazing!!

gonna do some testing now.

looks like you have the texture in the color channel...which I didnt. it was just the bumpmap if that makes any difference.

I scaled down the scratchmap texture because it looked huge in Sketchup. so I guess I should just leave it as it is....it doesn't actually render as it appears. I scaled it down x5 from 250mm to 50mm so that it looked correct.

right Im on it now Fletch, those renders are fantastic!! cant wait to do the whole range of planters they are very nice....my mum is the designer!

test of just the base. using brushed metal silver.

bump looks fine....then theres a weird wavey bump half way up?!!

used same preset as you. hmmm

I have the old twilight too, could that cause any probs? gonna download new one now.

quick test with your version of the pot: works perfect and i cant understand why yours is different to mine!!
