Ok, second try. Fixed (grouped) the mirror ball and changed a bit the ground's material. Again MLT (BPT) and only a litlle colour correction in post work. :)

Ciao Massimo, sei Italiano?

Sapresti indicarmi qualche documendo, guida o video tutorial da seguire? Ti ringrazio molto!!!

P.S. Ti ho scritto qui, in quando non sono abilitato a mandare messaggi privati.
Hi Massimo, are you Italian? The Twilight Facebook page has informed me of your name as an expert on the program.

I am a Surveyor, I use SketchUp and I would like to export some views after having them "rendered" with Twilight.
I downloaded the extension and I'm looking for some Italian program guide, being a little poor with English.

Can you tell me some documendo, guide or video tutorial to follow? Thank you very much!!!

P.S. I wrote you here, when I'm not allowed to send private messages.

I really gotta start checking the forums more often :D

Anyway, seing some marbelous results there there I figured I'd give it a go as well.

I modified the existing model a bit, basically adding more air bubbles and having several colors for the inserts. The bubbles also have their front face facing inwards, since they are inside the ball the glass would be around them and the inside be air. Probably an obvious thing but I've been doing that the other way around until now..

The material for the inserts is just the Translucent > Leaf preset. The glass however is layered, Glass - Flint F5 (UN) is the main glass material, and then a standard material with only the specular channel set (smudge map) layered on top. I also added an interior fog to the glass to give it a slight green tint (FallOffInt: 1, RGB:226/256/211).

Beautiful work, Andrew! That is some seriously nice work, and thank you for the screenshot of your Deep Material Editor settings. I was unaware of the fog setting, and am going to be exploring that soon. And if this thread has risen from the dead, I may play with some marbles and post the results.

Anyway, thanks once again for the screen shot. I learned something from it!

Thanks! I didn't even realize how old this thread was at first, but jeez it's been a long time now that I think about it  . I was only getting started with Sketchup then, was version 6 or 7 I think?

I'm more than happy to help, even tho I still got a lot to learn myself. For many things I don't really have a solution, I just try different approaches until it looks good. But thanks again and good luck in your future projects!
